Courting the Wild Depths
“In moments of confusion such as the present, we are not left simply to our own rational contrivances. We are supported by the ultimate powers of the universe as they make themselves present to us through the spontaneities within our own beings. We need only become sensitized to these spontaneities, not with a naive simplicity, but with critical appreciation.”
—Thomas Berry
Courting the Wild Depths
In this 3-day immersive retreat, we will explore the art and practice of tending our relationship with the wild depths of both the living world and our own being. We will do this by weaving together Earthskills practices (primarily cordage making and fire tending) with consciousness-shifting practices on the land. The daily rhythm for the program will include solo time on the land, time together in council, practices to cultivate ecological awareness, soulcentric dreamwork, ceremony, and more.
Participants will emerge from this retreat with a toolset to engage with the animacy of the more-than-human world and to actively tend to their inner depths.
All meals (local and organic) will be provided.
Opportunities will be available for individual mentoring.
Quotes from Past Retreat Participants
“My time in the sacred circle of the Deep Belonging was a gift. It was a time of re-connecting with myself, with others who quickly became dear friends, and with Mother Earth. I am extremely grateful for the time I spent on retreat. I feel more at peace, settled and whole than I have in a long time.”
— Mary U.
“The retreat was a deeply intensive personal look at the interconnectedness of nature and our lives, and how we choose to interact, consume, and steward our Earth. I highly recommend this retreat!”
— Rex S.
“During the retreat, a veil fell from my eyes. I began to look at the world with a new clearer lens. I experienced the highest sense of joy and happiness. It filed my life with new ideas and meaning, and it filled me with love for all living things on our amazing and gorgeous planet.”
— Jordan B.
