This is the second in a multi-part series of reflections by Ezekiel Fugate on the world and our place in it. Read Part 1 here. These scattered invitations are meant to serve as directional markers, pointing you toward a way of relating with the world that might do justice to the incredible gift of existence. What to Remember on Waking (pt. 2)
What to remember on waking: Every moment emerges out of the vast fecundity of the past and perishes into the eternal promise of the future. The entire oceanic expanse of time is your inheritance in every moment. This inheritance arrives at your doorstep longing to erupt into beauty through you. What you do with this gift matters. You have the choice to serve beauty. You have the choice to turn yourself into a portal through which beauty flows into the world and feeds the future. You are the beneficiary, the shepherd, the artisan, and the benefactor of beauty.
